| Station 14 was alerted for a smoke snvestigation on Budds Creek Road in the area of Plantation Drive around 4 pm. They found 2 large piles of debris and stumps on fire at the end of Rankokas Place. After determining this was gonna be more than their units could handle they requested several more units. E104 was added to the call, arrived and took operations. Units from Newburg, Bel Alton, Hughesville, Cobb Island and LaPlata worked to extinguish the deep seated fire. Command requested E-44 from Nanjemoy, a brush unit with a Class A foam system, and a dozer from Forestry. E-44's crew applied foam and Forestry spread the piles out to hit all the hot spots. Units cleared just before 9pm. Command-14B (Butler), Operations-Technician Williams (E-104) |
