Overturned Dump Truck

April 7, 2016

This morning, crews were alerted by a citizen that a dump truck had flipped over with the driver still inside, just 2 blocks from our station. As the Rescue Squad arrived under the direction of Chief 10, the crew immediately went to work stabilizing the truck with struts, cribbing, and a winch cable. Chief 10A arrived and assumed the Command, with Chief 10 as the Rescue Group Supervisor. Engine 102 arrived and secured a safety hose line, as well as assisting with the extrication. RE13 and RS2 crews assisted our members with removing the single occupant. Ems crews packaged the patient and transported to the LZ to the rear of station 10. Thank you to RE141 for covering the landing site.
