Engine and Tanker Run House Fire

August 17, 2015

Shortly after lunchtime, Engine 102 and Foam Tanker 10 responded to Fairhaven Road in Co.14's area for the reported House on Fire. Engine 102 arrived first to find fire showing from Division 2. E102's crew began an aggressive interior attack, deploying a pre-connect attack line. Due to water supply issues, the crew was pulled out several times, and eventually due to deteriorating conditions on the interior, Command made the decision to evacuate the structure and allow the ladder pipe to knock down the bulk of the fire. After making good progress with the master streams, crews regrouped and made their way into the structure to mop up and extinguish hot spots. A 2nd Alarm was called out to this incident, and most units rotated into work due to the amount of overhaul, as well as the hot temperatures outside. Chief 1B had the Command.

We would like to send out a special THANK YOU to the Bel Alton Auxiliary, as well as EMS Chief 14 for the cold drinks and refreshments that were delivered to the scene.
