First Due House Fire

November 1, 2014

Units responded to Bridgett Lane in the Dentsville portion of our First Due for the House on Fire. Ambulance 158 arrived and advised incoming units that there was fire showing from the second floor. Squad 2 was the first suppression apparatus on scene and immediately initiated an aggressive interior attack along with other units arriving on scene, to include Engine 102, Engine 143, and Truck 1. Chief 10A arrived and established the Command, assigning Chief 3B to Operations. Units encountered heavy fire conditions throughout the second floor and attic. Due to deteriorating conditions, command ordered the evacuation and placed the "ladder pipe" operation into service. After knocking down the bulk of the fire, crews were sent back in to extinguish the remaining fire. Crews operated for several hours overhauling the structure and picking up. Engine 101 established the fill site and filled Tankers throughout the incident. Chief 10B had Water Supply.

Thank you to our Ladies Auxiliary for providing refreshments, and to the anonymous citizens who provided pizza to all of the crews!!!
