Engine Works Fire in Pomfret

March 5, 2014

Just before 1500 hours, Engine 101 responded to 7660 Marshalls Corner Road for the structure fire. Duty 7 arrived on scene and advised he had a shed style structure to the rear of a residence that was fully involved and had collapsed. E101 arrived in staging and were called to the scene with long hooks. The structure was found to have been occupied at one time, so crews switched to an offensive operation to perform searches. The crews worked for over an hour overhauling and knocking down the remaining fire that was trapped under all the debris including the tin roof. Once thorough searches were complete, all personnel exited the structure. E101 returned to service shortly after.
