Extrication in Port Tobacco

At 1714 hours, Station 10 was alerted to assist Co.1 (La Plata) with a MVC on Port Tobacco Road near Valley Road. Squad 10 and Duty 10 responded along with Engine 14 (La Plata). Upon arrival, Squad 10 was advised they needed to remove a "B" post and the roof of a car. The crew went to work stabilizing the vehicle and setting up the tools. Engine 12 arrived on scene and assisted in the extrication process with the crew from Squad 10. Duty 10 was assigned the "Extrication Group" and the officer of Engine 14 had the Command. Squad 8 was added to the call for the "Entrapment" assignment, but were placed in service prior to arriving on scene. A109 was also added to the call to stand by for the extrication process, but were not utilized. Engine 82 handled the LZ for the MSP Trooper. Once the patient was extricated, EMS units on scene took over care and Squad 10 picked up to return to service.
