| On Sat. Feb. 25th at 1631 hrs Charles County Communications dispatched units to 8315 Poorhouse Rd for the single family house fire, reported fire in the basement. E 83/ Chief 8 (OIC) responsed with 4 personnel, upon arrival reported smoke showing. Shortly after Chief 8 reported a working fire in the basement and E 83 is advancing an attack line to the basement and the next arriving engine report to division 1 and hold at the top of the steps. Rescue 8 arrived next and reported to side A and took care of forcible entry to division 1 for E 73's crew then moved to the roof sector to cut 2 trench cuts for ventilation. Chief 10 arrived at the same time as Rescue 8 and at the request of the Westside Batt. Chief (9) assumed the Poorhouse Rd Command. E 73/ C7B arrived and advanced a line to division 1 as instructed. E 73's and Tanker 8's drivers established the water supply for E 83, via the draft basin from Tanker 8. Rescue Squad 10/ C10B arrived next and were assigned the tasks of securing utilities, opening up, primary & secondary search on division 1 by command. Truck 1 arrived and was assigned the tasks of primary & secondary search and opening up the basement division by command. Chief 1B arrived and was assigned division 1 operations by command. NDW-E 211 was assigned the draft site at Poorhouse Rd and Harley Davidson Pl. by Chief 8 prior to the command being established. E 92/ C9B arrived and were assigned RIT on side A by command. Chief 9 arrived and took the incident safety officer position. Truck 11/ C11B arrived and were assigned exterior mechanical ventilation for the entire strucure by command. Due to the aggressive interior attack and the fact that all of the crews worked flawlessly together brought this fire under control in just over 20 mins from the arrival of the first arriving fire unit. I would like to say "thank you" for another job well done by the dedicatied volunteer firefighters and paid firefighters of all the Fire Dept.s involved in the incident, that made my job as command as painless as possible.
